I was born in the San Francisco Bay Area and received my formal musical training in San Jose, California. My journey began with piano lessons at age six, which led me to perform in various groups and sing choral music in my high school jazz vocal ensemble and honor choirs. It was during my time studying jazz music and vocal coaching at De Anza College in Cupertino, under the direction of Roger Letson, that I developed an obsession with jazz. I truly realized that a career as a vocalist and voiceover talent was possible only in my late 20s.

We all sing before we speak! The moment you uttered your first "coo" marked your first musical moment. I believe that our voices are deeply connected to humanity through our spirit and our souls, much like the rich expressiveness found in jazz music. What does your soul want to say? In practical terms, we all must learn to sing with techniques that protect our voices, which is where vocal coaching can play a crucial role. But then we have to go deeper. We must play, explore, and uncover what is uniquely our own as vocalists, and how we want to use our voices. It's only when we come together in a room and sing, whether as individuals or with the guidance of singangelasing techniques, that we truly discover what is there for us. Even voiceover talent can benefit from this exploration.
